That is to be expected, considering the situation.

I suppose you'd know that better than I would...

I know less than I'd like to know, to be frank.

But you've gone through the purification on Mount Ordeals... and you've had several more years to walk in that path...

Yet I've discovered that I've walked a much shorter distance than anyone thought. ...No, perhaps I should say that I followed that path with the wrong state of mind, and thus learned less than I should have from it.

...and all along I'd assumed you were always so far ahead in that...

I might have turned to the light, but the darkness is still there. Rejecting its presence caused more harm than good, though none of us could have predicted it.

Then the darkness never truly leaves...

No more than your arm can leave you. But even if it is within you, it needs not be in control of your thoughts.

I attempt not to let it take over, but... sometimes it's a struggle...
