12th moon [voice]

[Luceti, Cecil has a question for you.]

Which would be easier to prepare: a roast, a stew or a meat pie?

[...Along with one that is slightly less horrifying.]

Also, after a mission, would you rather take the immediate rewards or the points we can trade? Those patches that can hide us from the droids look useful, but that '80%' of theirs is far from reassuring.
fabrecation: (I'll work on it)

[personal profile] fabrecation 2011-11-18 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
... Probably stew. I've never even tried pies before.
paladinlost: (curious)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2011-11-18 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Neither have I, but I've also never tried stew or roast, beyond open fires. I suppose it'll take some practice even for the easiest.

Tell me about it. The first time I tried cooking stew here, it... [... Yeaaah he'll scratch his cheek and look off to the side.] ... kind of blew up.
paladinlost: (thoughtful)

Less than six months doesn't count as late!

[personal profile] paladinlost 2011-12-19 01:58 pm (UTC)(link)
We've apparently had similar results when all this kitchen technology appeared, though I do not remember those times.

[They still don't have a new microwave after that last time.]
fabrecation: (Worst bedtime story ever)

I suppose not... ;w;

[personal profile] fabrecation 2011-12-29 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
It's weird, isn't it? All those buttons and stuff. I nearly burned down the stove once because of it.

[Asch was pretty angry at him at that time. Not that Asch isn't angry at him all the time.]
paladinlost: (err)

...More than a year would be slightly stretching it, though.

[personal profile] paladinlost 2011-12-29 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose they must be quite useful if you know exactly what they do, but the lack of instructions makes it all more complicated. I have to ask my housemates for directions every time.

[Admittedly, they'd already given up one his past selves twice, but still...]
fabrecation: (Scramble)

... Hopefully I'll never make anyone wait that long 8D;

[personal profile] fabrecation 2012-01-03 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
Asch just gets mad at me when I ask... So I have to figure it out myself. I don't think I want to tell you how much stuff I burned in there...

[Really, if Asch just taught him, Luke would do a much better job. But nope.]
paladinlost: (curious)

RPer's block can strike anyone~

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-01-03 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Why would he be angry with you for asking? Being willing to learn should never be seen as negative.

[...Learning how to torture/maim/kill people not withstanding, of course.]
fabrecation: (Don't meet their eyes)

It is a terrifying thing...

[personal profile] fabrecation 2012-01-12 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
He just... He doesn't like me very much, that's all. And he thinks I should know this stuff by now... so he gets kind of impatient with me.
paladinlost: (calm)

It awaits shrouded in darkness, ready to attack~

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-01-13 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
...If that's the case, you might want to try asking someone with a slightly higher level of patience. For both of your sakes.

[...Oh god, we have a double Yuri Lowenthal commiserating party going on here.]
fabrecation: (Ha ha subject evasion!)

/COWER

[personal profile] fabrecation 2012-01-26 11:40 am (UTC)(link)
[... Double Lowenthal all the way across the sky...?]

Yeah... I don't know who to ask, though. It's... kind of a weird question to ask, you know?
paladinlost: (sighing)

...Probably has a ridiculous attack cry, though.

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-01-27 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
[People listening in must be so confused by the vocal awesomeness.]

It should not be. It might make a difference between a lovely kitchen and one that is burned down, after all.
fabrecation: (Scramble)

"BLOOOOOCKUUUDESUUUUU"

[personal profile] fabrecation 2012-01-27 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
[... Honestly, even Luke's starting to pick up on it. But he won't be pointing it out or anything.]

It's... a little embarrassing, though. Saying that I can't... cook very well. [Even that makes him flustered, and he glances away and purses his lips.] I-I've been getting better, I just...
paladinlost: (cute)

Exactly! Yet it makes all the muns cry.

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-01-27 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
[See, Luke, this is what twenty years will do to your vocal chords.]

You could try presenting it differently. You could say that you have a problem with a particular part of the process, or that you cannot get used to the local technology. Once the issue is specific rather than general, it becomes less embarrassing.
fabrecation: (DERP)

Yes... for it is a terrifying cry as well as ridiculous.

[personal profile] fabrecation 2012-01-27 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
[Sexy. (yea)]

... That sounds like a good idea! A lot of people here keep having trouble with the technology, right? It's not just us?
paladinlost: (happy)

And it is a sign of very bad things to come.

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-01-28 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
[The FF4 people were blessed in the voice department, really.]

Of course not. Even people that have been here for years are not always comfortable with it. Besides, I've no doubt it does have an effect on our ability to cook.
fabrecation: (Scramble)

[personal profile] fabrecation 2012-02-02 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
... Yeah, I know all about that. I set a cheese sandwich on fire the first time I used a microwave.
paladinlost: (err)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-02-04 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Because of a metal object, or because of the time and power you input?

[No judgement here, merely some curiosity.]
fabrecation: (Asch grow up)

[personal profile] fabrecation 2012-02-06 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
The time, I think. I thought cheese sandwiches would take longer to cook. Not a few seconds...
paladinlost: (sighing)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-02-07 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
And in those cases, we've no choice but trial and error. I doubt anyone has written down a list of meals and their cooking times.
fabrecation: (And the pants were dead.)

[personal profile] fabrecation 2012-02-07 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
... Maybe someone should start. There's got to be more people here who need it!
paladinlost: (meh)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-02-07 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
I'd offer to try, but microwaves are banned in the house most of the time, due to previous incidents.
fabrecation: (Birds and bees just fly right?)

[personal profile] fabrecation 2012-02-07 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
... Heh heh. Banned, huh? [Luke finds that amusing, even if he can sympathize.] I'm surprised Asch hasn't done that yet... I know I was banned from the kitchen when we used to live in House 5.

Maybe I can start writing down how long stuff takes to cook before it burns...
paladinlost: (thoughtful)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-02-07 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
Most of it happened before I arrived, yet I still do not receive the benefit of doubt...

[That's what happens when your previous selves screw up.]

You could try cooking by bursts of ten seconds until the meal is ready. They'd be less likely to reach the burned stage, as long as you are careful.
fabrecation: (There's so much to say)

[personal profile] fabrecation 2012-02-07 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
Right... That sounds good. I'll try that!

[He's actually kind of excited about it! MAYBE THIS WILL HELP HIM OUT!!]

Thanks, uh... What's your name? [Right, they never said it...]
