Train often. Listen to the journals. Seek information about missions and drafts. Help those who need it. Every little action could help.

And why should we help them with missions? It's like giving up and helping the enemy.

Because they are also the only opportunity we have of leaving the enclosure and seeing other villages, or even their own facilities. That is a source of information we simply cannot ignore. The points we earn can also be put to good use.
