The earth gets frozen deep enough that the sun can't melt it. It's called permafrost. But that's really far north, and I'm from the south, so I don't know much.

That would make any sort of agriculture impossible. No wonder so many must live in cities.

So much of the land is fertile, though... There are huge farms in places. The west is well known for them.

They must be lovely to behold, if their size fits such a large country.

They can be, especially the wheat fields. The lines of golden plants, waving in the wind before the harvest, is something to behold.

...That sounds a lot like home, once you leave the town.

So, your homeland has a lot of farms? [Sounds like an agrarian society, but no way to be sure yet.]

Near the town, at least. There are forests and a desert beyond that.

Well, that's certainly... diverse. You must see a lot of interesting wildlife.

Too much of it, almost. There are monster attacks, every so often.

Monsters? Like the ones that showed up during that shift?

Exactly like those. It reminded me very much of home, truly.

There's nothing like that in my world. I hope you enjoyed that shift...? [Though it probably made him homesick.]

I did. I'd never had such powerful healing magic before.

I'm glad. The magic was certainly interesting. Scary, sometimes... but interesting.

Were there any spells you particularly liked?

I liked being able to heal others, and make them stronger and faster. To be able to help. What about you? You were a mage, right?

I was. Being able to kill undead with my own holy magic was nice, for once.

[anxiousgrace]

What do you do normally? As a job. Or to kill undead, I suppose.

I usually favor holy blades. My normal Cures barely harm them, and the limitations on our powers make them even worse.

[anxiousgrace]

It's a good thing there aren't many undead around, then.

So you usually use holy blades? Could you not use them during the experiment?

[paladinlost]

Not at all, somehow. I could not lift any of my swords, or even my axe. Then again, my staff and my bow worked better than ever.

That is odd. I didn't know equipment was affected. It would explain those costumes, though.

Costumes? They looked like traditional clothing to me.
