15th moon [voice]

[As far as accidental voice messages go, this one is simple enough.

All that can be heard is the journal falling to the ground, and Cecil screaming in pain.

One cannot be expected to take the sudden and brutal loss of a somewhat telepathic father-son connection gracefully, after all.]

Hm. Well, I guess I'd be interested in that. I've met a lot of people with a lot of similarities so far, and, they're fascinating when you don't like them with conspiracies. [ She pauses and briefly hesitates before choosing the right words. ] How our homes work? Mine clarifying that a bit?
paladinlost: (curious)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-02-02 02:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, as an example, my world has natural magic, natural monsters, creatures that can be summoned by humans and crystals that regulate everything. But what if another world has creatures that can be summoned without having monsters in the first place? it'd be nice to know how two such different summoning systems came to exist.
weaponry: (we get in for free)

[personal profile] weaponry 2012-02-03 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
It would! Back home, people can summon various animals to fight alongside with them. They're known as summons. You basically find an animal, and make a summoning contract with them with your blood. I'm not sure what the difference between creatures and natural monsters are, so I can't really address that part, but you are right about the summoning thing from another world. I'm sort of wondering how the system came about as well... [ Considering, considering... So many things to consider! ]
paladinlost: (thoughtful)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-02-04 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
With your blood? Ours prefer to be defeated in combat. Though finding them in the first place is quite an achievement by itself...

[And getting the item drop is an even greater one.]

The difference between monsters and creatures mostly comes down to agressivity and intelligence. Even then, which is which is mostly due to their usefulness.
weaponry: (no vip sleaze)

[personal profile] weaponry 2012-02-04 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, you can defeat your summon in combat but you still need blood to summon them. If a potential summon is particularly stubborn, defeating them in combat could be a requirement.

[ Like Tenten and her legendary banana fan! ]

Ah, so it's just creatures are more refined while monsters are more aggressive? I guess that makes sense.
paladinlost: (err)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-02-05 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
...I suppose we also need blood, in a certain manner. Only those born from a summoner bloodline have the power call Eidolons, Everyone else can defeat as many as they want, but they'd only earn their respect.

[...Well, there was that one time- No, not thinking about that.]
weaponry: (no one’s getting out)

[personal profile] weaponry 2012-02-05 09:17 am (UTC)(link)
Eidolons? Mind going into detail about those?

[ Man, you guys are awfully complex and foreign with your terminology. ]
paladinlost: (flowy)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-02-05 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
That's the name given to creatures that can be summoned. They have their own city, their own rulers, and their time flows differently.
weaponry: (pic#2327108)

[personal profile] weaponry 2012-02-06 09:52 am (UTC)(link)
Hm. Well, our summons have their own land but I've never actually been to where a summon lives. They also have their own rulers, or some of them do at least. Some of them don't. I do know that time doesn't flow differently there. Their homes are located somewhere in our world, summoning just makes them travel that vast distance instantly.
paladinlost: (err)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-02-07 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
Ours follow time at a different speed because their land is technically in another dimension. Yet beyond that, it seems both of our systems work in the same manner.
weaponry: (pic#2327222)

[personal profile] weaponry 2012-02-07 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Hm. We have things that are dimensional and space and time techniques back home, like how I summon my weapons, but, it's not actually in a dimension where time is slower. There's also people that are able to hop between dimensions, but I've never actually been inside another dimension so I can't speak for that experience personally.
weaponry: (maybe she's born with it)

2/2

[personal profile] weaponry 2012-02-07 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Both of our systems are similar, but, we seem to be having a lot of similarities with our worlds here. It's a funny thing how close our worlds are. Have you ever heard of the Sage of the Six Paths?
paladinlost: (calm)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-02-08 01:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Frankly, had I not been warned, I doubt I would have realized something was different. Their dimension felt much like ours, though none of its inhabitants were human.

[He thinks about it for a few seconds.]

I know of many sages, including one I had the chance to meet in person, but not the Sage of the Six Paths. Is he well known in your world?
weaponry: (pic#2327244)

[personal profile] weaponry 2012-02-10 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
Hm? Really? That's odd. That sounds totally unlike anything I'd ever imagine. I guess this means the other dimensions we travel to are different too.

[ She nods to answer his question. ]

Yeah. He's the creator of ninjutsu, genjutsu and taijutsu. They say he mastered every technique and sealed the ten-tailed beast inside the moon. They say he was superior in every aspect as a ninja. He's such an influential person, he's legendary! If we both knew about him, then I think that'd be a sure link that our worlds are definitely connected.
paladinlost: (thoughtful)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-02-10 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
He was a ninja? In this case, Edge would be the most likely person to have heard of him, as the king of the kingdom of Eblan. He'd know at least some of his techniques, if nothing else. If only he was here to give his opinion...
weaponry: (oh hey an icon of the age she really is)

[personal profile] weaponry 2012-02-11 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[ ooc: Sorry about the lateness! DW has been failing me for the past couple of days! ]

Edge? So you know a ninja? Well, he started out as a monk according to most legends. Besides, this would only be plausible if our worlds were connected, but it'd definitely be a surefire way to know if they are.
paladinlost: (flowy)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-02-12 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
[[A tag is not late unless it's been six months. True fact.]]

I know five, in fact, though the other four are his students. And along with a kingdom of ninjas, we have a kingdom of monks. Any of their inhabitants could easily confirm or infirm any connection.
weaponry: (pic#2326961)

[personal profile] weaponry 2012-02-13 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
[ She giggles. She's definitely enjoying the conversation. ]

That sounds great! Though, monks were absorbed into ninja culture where we're from. They now live in villages which are filled with ninjas but aren't just ninjas.
paladinlost: (err)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-02-14 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
[So is he! ...In a still kinda emotionally numb way.]

I doubt that will happen in my world, unless Edge marries Ursula. And the chances of that are lower than low.
weaponry: (pic#2327108)

[personal profile] weaponry 2012-02-14 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
Edge marries Ursu-huh? [ This kunoichi is definitely lost! ]
paladinlost: (flowy)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-02-15 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Ursula is the princess and heir of the monk kingdom of Fabul. However, as she was raised as a sort of niece figure for Edge, I doubt such a marriage would happen.

[In fact, he always thought she'd end up with his son.]
weaponry: (No Neji. That's not how weapons work.)

[personal profile] weaponry 2012-02-15 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm. Well, I've never really heard of marriages within a family or with family figures so I doubt such a thing would happen here either. I think one monk lead a ninja lifestyle and changed the world and the monks just lived and continued peacefully while the world around them changed. But, I don't know too about monks so I can't really say for sure.
paladinlost: (err)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-02-16 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
Moving from a monk's life to a ninja's sounds like a great step to take... Are his reasons for doing so known, or were they lost in history?
weaponry: (No Neji. That's not how weapons work.)

[personal profile] weaponry 2012-02-16 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
He originally wanted to use his talents about chakra and ninjutsu for peace. He traveled the world teaching his life style - the shinobi sect - which eventually became known as ninjutsu and lost all religious connotation. He wanted to use the wisdom you could acquire with it for peace instead of war.

That's a lovely goal to have, though those rarely achieve their full potential. Is his story well remembered?
