No good, they don't have... How does this even work? I'll stay away from it for now...

[Rummaging noises come from the journal, numerous but careful. It sounds like someone is exploring the item shop.]

I apologize for bothering everyone, but could anyone recommend objects that are helpful to a household? Specifically, objects that are necessary for a new arrival or that can keep the house organized and clean. I'm not familiar with most of the products I find here, and I'd rather not bring anything that is useless or dangerous home. I'd be most thankful for your help.

[He falls quiet, and for a few moments only the sounds of items being moved can be heard. It appears his message is over, but-]

It's okay that we weren't actually related. Just knowing that there are other summoners so close to what I am was a real treat. If they ever return, I'll point them out to you.

I'd love to meet them. Hopefully they'll remember your previous friendship.

Even if they don't, I'll just mention the Eidolons and we'll bond all over again.

Having Eidolons in common must make it much easier to become friends. Perhaps I should seek out other paladins?

You should! I'm not sure who are paladins around here, though. It's not something I thought about asking before.

I could always ask if anyone is familiar with the term. At the very least, I'd know if paladins exist in other worlds.

I would be shocked if none did, to be honest. There's a wide variety of callings in this place.

Is that so? What is the strangest calling you've heard of?

...I don't know. It's been so long and there's been so many people in and out. Though Tidus does come to mind. He was the boyfriend of Yuna -another summoner- and he was a sports star, of something called blitzball? It's a game you play underwater; somehow, the players can just hold their breath for stupidly long amounts of time. I haven't seen the game itself, but the description was really bizarre.

...That admittedly seems extremely strange and complicated. I suppose that particular world is extremely different from ours, even if they have summoners. How could anyone hold their breath long enough to play a whole game?

[Yet he sounds absolutely delighted.]

I don't know. I asked Tidus if it was magic, but he swore it wasn't.

[Impressed, if weirded out a little. HUMANS SHOULDN'T DO THAT.]

Perhaps he secretly possessed gills?

[It might or might not be a serious theory.]

If he did, I never saw them...but who knows, maybe he was part merperson and never told me.

Do you know if he spent a lot of time by the lakes?

I think so! Speaking of the lakes, Kain and I had a mermaid friend who lived there. Her name was Razette.

A mermaid? Why did she not live in the ocean? It must be more comfortable and less likely to freeze over.

Well, we didn't have the ocean then. That area used to be one long stretch of desert. It's only been an ocean for a few months, after one of the drafts. Anyway, Razette's mute, so she and Kain bonded over that. She was so affectionate--I remember her having a 'free hugs' sign.

She sounds like she was a very kind girl. Was she in Luceti for a long time, or was it a short but memorable stay?

She was here twice! The first time she was here for at least several months. The second time was shorter, though I don't know why. One day, she was just...gone.

Perhaps she'll return someday. After all, she was brought here twice; there must be something about her that is attracted to this world.

I really hope so. Maybe that's selfish, since she's probably better off in her own, but...I can't help it.

...anyway, I think we could come up with a band akin to what Ceodore and I have, even if the one you remember doesn't work for us.

Wanting to see your friends again if far from selfish, even under these circumstances.

[He nods.] Once we can manage a few more of them, we'll have enough versatility to be able to surprise our opponents in a future draft. A band that can heal would be nice, too.

Hm...well, that I would have to leave up to you or Ceodore, unless my Drain spell could be of any use. I suppose we could see if filial magic would work for a band, but it won't help us when we're drafted outside the barrier.

We'll certainly be able to manage sonething. Even Edward and Harley have found a way to combine their powers to heal everyone.
