It is a part of my world, and yet not. The Higan is full of flowers and it is the place you go to where you await judgement from the Yama after having been ferried across the Sanzu River. Only those who have died are allowed to cross you see~

Higanbana also happen to bloom freely there. As such, gardening and planting such flowers whilst waiting to be judged sounds like a pleasant way to spend your time.

In fact, I cannot recall any aspect of the village that was not caused by them somehow, if only indirectly.

...That sounds like a lovely afterworld, even if it's only temporary. None of the dead I've met mentioned such a land in my world, but I do hope it also exists there in some shape. It'd be better than most theories I've heard.

Those aspects include the appearance of this flower from your homeworld then I presume, as you mentioned before. My those Malnosso do seem to enjoy having 'fun'~

Haha, I assure you this afterlife is not as great as it seems, what with that Yama stumbling about and her incompetant shikigami slacking off. With such a poorly run afterlife there's no wonder why nobody wants to die.

They do seem to have a rather eccentric sense of humour, if it can be called that. It could simply be malice and sadism.

I've learned a long time ago that bureaucracy can be found anywhere. That it would also apply to the afterlife is not too surprising.

Whilst bureaucracy might be found in most places it does not necessarily mean all will work out. Were I in charge of the afterlife I would have fired that Yama's subordinate long ago for slacking off.

I'd much prefer it if their sense of humor was normal. Or even simply centered on bad puns.

I would not want to reign over the Higan anyway. If I already surpass the power of a Yama, I would see no need in becoming one myself.

If you are particularly lucky, it'll be something as simple as being transformed into a flower for a week. But quite a few of their experiments are much less kind.

I could do a lot better than merely firing her if I wanted to as I am now, but why end things early? The Yama seems to keep her around only to scold her anyway.

I'll have to tell my housemates to be very careful around flowers during experiments, then. Saving a few minutes by walking through a flower field would not be worth such reprisal.

I was born from a human, and raised by humans my whole life. But those from my world are far from weak, after all the battle they've had to fight.

Possessing magic would mean very little about my humanity; many people do, in my world. ...But I said that I was born from a human and raised by humans, not that I was purely human myself.

So magic is a regular occurence in your world then. Regardless, I'm not sure I follow what you are telling me. If you are born from a human, surely you too are human~ Unless of course one of your guardians was not a human. But if that's the case then you neglected to mention such a thing sooner.

People have two parents, do they not? One can easily be born from a human yet have other blood in their veins, though it is nearly unheard of in my world.

As a matter of fact, yes. Our world has a number of Lunarians, as well as moon rabbits. Whilst our world itself is only home to a few Lunarians, there is an entire colony positioned on the moon itself~ [...] I hear they are quite technologically advanced.

Indeed, whilst we too have Lunarians I am not familiar with Hummingways. Though I imagine the reason you brought them up is because they sound similar to moon rabbits~? And yes, I believe the few Lunarians who live in our world and not on the moon have regular contact with others, both human and youkai~

They indeed look very much like rabbits, though few rabbits wear clothing and manage stores. It's good to know that the people of both moon and earth can interact together, if only in other worlds.

I'm not sure about running stores, but the rabbits I have crossed paths with happened to be wearing clothes. [...] Though just because both interact and have contact with one another, it does not mean they have always got on well. At one point, these Lunarians replaced the real moon with a fake replica that would never become full~
