...Has anyone else ever found a particular item in the shop, and thought that it must have been placed there to taunt you? Would the Malnosso even commit such a petty act? At least it should match the pansies...
[With that said, Cecil can be found at any point on the road between the item shop and house 32, bearing... a flower in a small vase?]

[Very well then, she'll stick to using a parasol
and perhaps burning his castle down so he develops an innate fear of fire he won't overcome until later-- what?]That is very true! Do you have any other sort of plants native to your world? Or perhaps you know of someone who possesses a foreign plant themselves~?
no subject
[
...If she tries to force him to sacrifice himself by turning into a statue, he's getting out of here.]I've not yet seen a plant from my world that appears uncommon here, but there are a few gardens in the village. Their owners might have more information.
no subject
[
She wouldn't ask that much. Maybe. You spoony paladin.]Ah yes, I have noticed a fair number of gardens here. I am pleased to see the residents of this world enjoy an abundance of flowers in their village~
no subject
[
Spoony's already taken! ...So's knifey, frying pany and ladley. Forky?]And the fact that those gardens grow properly and stay intact proves that we can build some semblance of stability here, too.
no subject
[
...I'll settle for forky. Or sporky, that's slight more spoonish.]Are flower beds real a sign of stability though? I never saw my own gardens as something like that.
no subject
[
So stylish, too.]They are, if they've not yet been uprooted by experiments or attacks.
no subject
[
Sporky it is then, you sporky paladin.]I have heard of these 'experiments' before, but I was not aware they would involve the uprooting of gardens. It must be such a pain having to replant everything.
no subject
[
Sporky~ sparkly~ paladin!]Yet it must be less of a pain than not being alive to replant them.
no subject
[
Hey. You can either be sporky or sparkly. Don't get greedy and pick two titles.]I suppose being dead would be quite the bother, though you could always plant higanbana along the Higan riverside~
no subject
[
He can't get rid of the sparkliness! It's 100% natural!]The Higan riverside? Is it a location in your world? Why would you plant those "higanbana" there?
no subject
[
She can beat that sparkliness out of him, natural or otherwise. Where's that frying pan~?]It is a part of my world, and yet not. The Higan is full of flowers and it is the place you go to where you await judgement from the Yama after having been ferried across the Sanzu River. Only those who have died are allowed to cross you see~
Higanbana also happen to bloom freely there. As such, gardening and planting such flowers whilst waiting to be judged sounds like a pleasant way to spend your time.
no subject
[
...*hides all the frying pans*]...That sounds like a lovely afterworld, even if it's only temporary. None of the dead I've met mentioned such a land in my world, but I do hope it also exists there in some shape. It'd be better than most theories I've heard.
no subject
[
...Touché. You win. For now. You can't hide all the frying pans forever!]Haha, I assure you this afterlife is not as great as it seems, what with that Yama stumbling about and her incompetant shikigami slacking off. With such a poorly run afterlife there's no wonder why nobody wants to die.
no subject
[
Even if he sleeps on them?]I've learned a long time ago that bureaucracy can be found anywhere. That it would also apply to the afterlife is not too surprising.
no subject
[Were she aware of the flower's origins and what not sooner, she might have found it amusing herself.
That would be awfully uncomfortable. Even so, he can't sleep forever!]Whilst bureaucracy might be found in most places it does not necessarily mean all will work out. Were I in charge of the afterlife I would have fired that Yama's subordinate long ago for slacking off.
no subject
[
Unless Rydia casts Sleep on him.]I suppose there'd be no way for you to rise up the ranks and be in charge unless you died first, in these circumstances.
no subject
[
She'll just have to hit him and wake him up with a frying pa- ...jahgkjsgh!!]I would not want to reign over the Higan anyway. If I already surpass the power of a Yama, I would see no need in becoming one myself.
no subject
[
Exactly. It's the unending loop from hell.]Not even simply to have the chance to fire that subordinate? If their work ethics cause trouble...
no subject
[
...Fine, Sporky Paladin. You have won. Enjoy your exp and drops.]I could do a lot better than merely firing her if I wanted to as I am now, but why end things early? The Yama seems to keep her around only to scold her anyway.
[She's at an impasse with things back home really. Sure that subordinate can't work for peanuts, but it's her incompetence that keeps things interesting, to be blunt... But anyway.]
This is an awful tangent we have gone off at. Talking about my world when you were explaining your own originally. [Gesturing to the flower, which is honestly much more interesting than his world to her, but she's being polite. Also, a quick curtsy to serve as an introduction.] Yuuka Kazami.
no subject
[
...Echo Herbs, of course.]Ah, but tangents can become the most interesting discussions, as long as they catch everyone's interest. Still, I'm forgetting my manners. My name is Cecil. Cecil Harvey.
[He bows elegantly.]
It's a pleasure to meet you.
no subject
[
Alternatively, gysahl greens!]I guess so. I must have found some aspect of this conversation appealing to have talked for so long. [Again. That flower.] It has certainly been an 'experience' meeting you Cecil.
Additionally, would I be correct in saying you are human~? [Because he looks pretty human. And she ragged on humans before and got little to no reaction.]
no subject
[
Those have been dummied out, actually]I find that most meetings are interesting experiences, and so are conversations. But yes, I am indeed mostly human. Why do you ask?
['Mostly' would be the important part, of course.]
no subject
[
Oh wait seriously...? Pfft. Totally replaying IV now to check.]To put it lightly, I am not particularly fond of humans. It is a shame to know you are mostly related to such weak beings. Would you care to elaborate more on how you human you actually are~?
no subject
[
No Fat Chocobo in the sequel; thus, no Gysahl Greens.]I was born from a human, and raised by humans my whole life. But those from my world are far from weak, after all the battle they've had to fight.
no subject
[
Oh, right, mun never played the After Years. Was this close to buying the full game, sequel and all for psp though!]I see, so whilst you are human born and bred, you say you are not weak? [Titter. A human that isn't weak.] Well then, are you purely human, or do you possess some sort of magic or talent that sets you away from the rest of the rabble~?
