18th moon [voice]

Rosa Farrell has left Luceti.

[It comes abruptly, harshly, flatly. Cecil does not sound in terrible pain as he did the last time he had to make such an announcement. In fact, he sounds very much as though he's forgotten how to inflect.]

...She's left roses and notes for everyone she's met here. Please come pick them up when you have the time.

[That's all he has the energy to say.]

anxiousgrace: (faint smile)

When does it take apps? I'm always looking for new things to do.

[personal profile] anxiousgrace 2012-06-17 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Packaging can be a bear, but at least it keeps food fresh.

... I wonder what happens to garbage here.
paladinlost: (peaceful)

Anytime, processed on the 1st/3rd weekends of the month! So this weekend.

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-06-17 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps they burn it? This world must have volcanos and lava.
anxiousgrace: (thoughtful)

What's it called? Like it's full name?

[personal profile] anxiousgrace 2012-06-17 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe they recycle some, too. It makes you wonder, though.
paladinlost: (err)

route_29!

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-06-18 02:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Recycle? How? Would it not not be too dirty?
anxiousgrace: (Happy)

Looks like fun, but troublesome to organize.

[personal profile] anxiousgrace 2012-06-18 02:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Not like directly reuse the items. They clean the materials, melt them down, and remold them into new things. It saves resources, because you can make new items out of old plastics or metals. [God this reminds her of student teaching.]
paladinlost: (curious)

Not if you keep up with it regularly. But when you start falling behind...

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-06-19 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
That 'plastic' can be melted down just as well as metal? It seems so different...
anxiousgrace: (faint smile)

Re: Not if you keep up with it regularly. But when you start falling behind...

[personal profile] anxiousgrace 2012-06-19 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
It melts at significantly lower temperatures, too. But some plastics are harder to reuse than others, and they can all release some nasty fumes if not melted carefully. [Was that a smile? That's progress, that is.]
paladinlost: (mature)

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-06-20 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Which means it would take special facilities, somewhere on this planet. But where?
anxiousgrace: (tense smile)

Oops, forgot to edit that last subject. Sounds like a pretty typical rp, then.

[personal profile] anxiousgrace 2012-06-20 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
Hopefully, outside a barrier. I hate to think about what would happen if it wasn't.
paladinlost: (err)

It is! With dozens of critters to meep track of.

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-06-21 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
If those barriers block the air's normal flow...

[Yeah, that'd be terrible.]
anxiousgrace: (Default)

You play your own pokemon, right? What "critters" make it challenging?

[personal profile] anxiousgrace 2012-06-22 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
There are all kinds of repercussions to that. [Cancer, carbon monoxide poisoning, and various other serious problems.]

Air pollution should always be minimized.
paladinlost: (thoughtful)

...Every single one you get after the tenth or so, mostly.

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-06-23 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
So should all types of pollution, I assume.
anxiousgrace: (tense smile)

An excel document would be your friend there.

[personal profile] anxiousgrace 2012-06-23 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
This is true, but some are worse than others.
paladinlost: (lost in thought)

I already have three. *sob*

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-06-24 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Because they spread more easily?
anxiousgrace: (Default)

Sticky notes are pretty awesome, as well. Both the computer app and the real thing.

[personal profile] anxiousgrace 2012-06-24 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. Air pollution and water pollution are the worst.

Some kinds of pollution are more annoying than harmful, though. Like light and noise pollution.
paladinlost: (err)

Does it work with Vista?

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-06-25 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
...You can pollute with light and noise? How?
anxiousgrace: (tense smile)

Idk. ... I really, REALLY hate Vista.

[personal profile] anxiousgrace 2012-06-25 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Imagine light filling the sky, until you can't see the stars. And sound both constant and loud. They're common problems, especially in big cities; both are irritating, but neither is truly harmful.
paladinlost: (frowning)

It took a while, but I'm used to it now.

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-06-27 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
...That sounds more terrifying than annoying, if you ask me.
anxiousgrace: (faint smile)

You can get used to anything. At least Vista is better than ME.

[personal profile] anxiousgrace 2012-06-27 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a constant thing, and yes it can be overwhelming if you're not used to it. But the places these things happen are home of hundreds of thousands of people, so I assume one can adapt to it.
paladinlost: (flowy)

Is that really saying much?

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-06-30 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
I can hardly imagine living in a world where stars exist, but are always beyond our sight.
anxiousgrace: (thoughtful)

There must be things that are worse than windows ME. Like... Ebola.

[personal profile] anxiousgrace 2012-06-30 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
Not always. You can usually see some, no matter where you are. And far away from cities, you can see thousands at a time.
paladinlost: (lost in thought)

...No Internet for six months.

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-07-01 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
That's good for most people, though it's a shame for city-dwellers.
anxiousgrace: (SIGH)

You never know, ME might just do that anyway.

[personal profile] anxiousgrace 2012-07-01 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
In my experience, most city dwellers are too distracted to look up and realize what they're missing.
paladinlost: (curious)

...I'll be keeping Vista kthx.

[personal profile] paladinlost 2012-07-01 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Because they live in cities, or because cities attract that sort of people?
anxiousgrace: (listening/staring into space)

Good luck with that.

[personal profile] anxiousgrace 2012-07-02 03:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably a little of both. Cities have all sorts of people.

Especially with computers.
