Rosa Farrell has left Luceti.

[It comes abruptly, harshly, flatly. Cecil does not sound in terrible pain as he did the last time he had to make such an announcement. In fact, he sounds very much as though he's forgotten how to inflect.]

...She's left roses and notes for everyone she's met here. Please come pick them up when you have the time.

Ten months after I arrived, or close enough to count. It's been a year and almost three months. Everyone else from my world has been here for more than three.

And from what I hear, they are far from the oldest residents.

Makes you wonder how long this has been going on. And how much longer it will continue.

Perhaps there are people here who could answer that first question, or at least tell us how many were here when they arrived.

That might help, but numbers seem to fluctuate a lot. Do you know anyone who has been here since the beginning?

Not personally, whatever beginning that might be. Only old residents.

I wonder, how this did begin... Who were the first to be here? How did they figure their new lives out? It must have been even worse then, when there was no precedent.

Much of the information and infrastructures we have we obtained by our fellow residents over the years. I wonder if we'd even recognize the original village if we saw it.

One can only imagine. I wonder what parts are original... Has the village changed since you got here?

Slightly. There was no orchard, back then. It appeared during an experiment and stayed after.

I didn't realize effects of experiments COULD stick around. Aren't they usually temporary?

They are. I suppose that could have been a Shift malfunction.

Are those common? Problems when a shift ends, that is. It seems like the Malnosso would try to clear them up.

This is the biggest remaining effect I've heard of by far, though every so often an experiment lasts longer for certain people. But in this case it's not exactly a problem.

Yeah, I can see where having an orchard would be nice. What do they grow there, anyway? I haven't been.

Huh. I wonder what kinds. Might be interesting if plants from other worlds could survive here.

Surely they do. I personally recognize many of the fruits and vegetables available in the store.

They do, but they must come from somewhere.

That's true. Nothing comes from nothing, after all.

Is food from your world readily available?

General ingredients such as vegetables and meats are, at least. But all that packaging is very different.

Packaging can be a bear, but at least it keeps food fresh.

... I wonder what happens to garbage here.

Perhaps they burn it? This world must have volcanos and lava.

Lots of tracking, a little note on the Taken list, and a lot of careful checking of tags.

Makes sense.

It goes very well, unless I tag the same character in both games.

Yep, even if they're not as big as they used to be.

RP's always get smaller. Pity, but true.

Unless they're blowing up, but that never lasts.

They fall apart when they get too big. Like atomic nuclei.

Until they hopefully rise again, half as large.

And then the ones who stick around are the ones most comfortable, and things get FUN.

As long as it doesn't scare the new kids.
