[Action
Should anyone be visiting the item shop in the morning or early afternoon, they'll be graced with the presence of a paladin! ...Which would normally be an extremely banal and commonplace event, but today said paladin happens to be a) turning the whole place upside down while looking for something, b) muttering some nasty curses that are directed at the items available in the shop, not at its patrons, promise, and c) wearing a long-sleeved turtleneck shirt over his mouth that happens to muffle most of point b). In the middle of July, if one must be reminded.
Some weeks, waking up is just not worth it.]
[Voice
The journal message comes later during the day, weary-sounding and still slightly muffled by that turtleneck.]
Would anyone be kind enough to help me find a razor? My visit to the item shop was... very fruitless. I'd owe you a favor in return, of course.

[action]
[But once he's directly addressed, he stops his rampage long enough to take a look around. Ah. That's funny, he could have sworn he hadn't caused quite that much of a mess.]
...I intend to clean the store once I'm done, I assure you.
[action]
[And people say Firo has problems...]
Yeah, well, that doesn't exactly help people who wanna look for somethin' now, does it?
[What he was looking for isn't really that urgent, though, and he knows there's little chance he'd find it anyway. He just feels like being a brat.]
[action]
[Well, let's just say there's a reason half his face is hidden.
He starts looking around again, though he does make an effort to be less... enthusiastic.]
I've seen most items in the shop. I might be able to tell you where to find them.
[Unless they've been buried under everything else he's moved since then, which is a strong possibility.]
[action]
[This is coming from a guy whose unusual circumstances mean he'll never have to shave again, so he has little understanding.]
...No. I'll get it by myself.
[He shrugs and looks around at the mess again. He doesn't want to have to rely on someone else, but if he wants to get to looking quicker, he'll have to do something.]
Where have you already looked? I can help you find what you want.
[action]
[So yes, that bad.]
I started from the leftmost wall and worked my way here. I should be done quickly enough, and then I can put everything back in place.
[He still has about a fifth of the shop left, but he's looking at the items rather efficiently.]
[action]
[Firo nods and moves to the other, unsearched side of the store, figuring he'll work his way back to where the other guy is.]
I'll start from over here, then.
[He starts to look over the items, so far coming up with nothing.]
So did you lose your old one or what?
[action]
[He sounds properly appreciative for the help, if nothing else.]
It broke a few days ago. I've had it since I first arrived here, so I suppose it was inevitable.
[action]
You'd think somethin' as basic as that would be easier to find. Especially considerin' some of the other stuff they got around here...
[He picks up an ornate candlestick to illustrate his point.]
Who even needs somethin' like this?
[action]
I can think of a few castles with a matching decor, but it would be of very little use in the village. Unless the Malnosso have plans for Shifted formal occasions...
[action]
[He feels he would have noticed a castle in Luceti, but you never know.]
Huh. That'd really be different. Think they'd find a way to make that dangerous too?
[action]
[He moves on to another item, leaving a precarious pile of plates behind.]
Certainly. It could serve as a distraction while a group mounts an attack on the village, or be an opportunity to poison us all. Or end up as a perfectly normal dinner and ball, who knows?
[action]
Careful!
[He laughs.]
Have you thought about that a lot? That's a lotta possibilities.
[action]
[So he makes two slightly less wobbly piles out of them instead.]
I have very little to do in this world, beyond training and cleaning the house. It gives me plenty of time to imagine worst case scenarios.
[action]
Oh yeah? You sure sound like a fun guy to be around.
[He means it jokingly; who wouldn't let their mind wander to unpleasant places when they're trapped in a place like this?]
What's the worst you've come up with?
[action]
[But he doesn't sound quite that serious when he says it.]
[action]
...I can't tell if that's a joke or not, but it isn't very funny.
[Yet he laughs anyway, running a hand through his hair.]
It's kinda hard to keep all your marbles in a place like this.
[action]
It can be, over time. But I find that regularly crushing monsters at the Battle Dome and thinking up new tricks with the filial spirits' magic helps. So does cleaning the house.
[action]
[He keeps his place neat at home, but now that he thinks about it, his house in Luceti might be cleaner for the very reason Cecil mentions. He brushes it off with a laugh and a shake of his head, then he looks at Cecil curiously.]
You learned that magic stuff?
[action]
I had to. My healing powers are naturally weak; with the barrier's power restriction in place, they only work on the most minor of injuries. So I chose to learn from Nala, and then from Hyt out of elemental affinity.
[action]
[Curiosity about the filial spirits all but forgotten, he speaks cautiously, wondering if this guy could be another immortal.]
Any sorta power like that would put you ahead of a lotta people, barrier or not, I think.
[action]
...I suppose I could still heal hairline bone fractures with some effort, which is better than nothing. But with Nala so easily accessible, even children can do better than that.
[action]
...I guess. But can you really trust those guys?
[Especially after all that happened with Twila.]
[ooc: Sorry for the lateness! I'm on hiatus.]
[action]
...Who knows? Nala feels benevolent, at least, and Hyt is such a faint presence that you could hardly imagine it's working against us, but there's no way to truly tell.
[ooc: No worries♥!]
[action]
I don't know. I don't wanna be too willing to trust anything here. But especially those guys, after what they did to us.
[ooc: Thanks!]
[action]
[He's glad they didn't have to go that far this time, but still.]
